Robert McMillan, 2018 NTPGA Player Development Award Winner, has been a PGA certified Golf Professional for over 25 years and is regarded as one of the top instructors in the country. He grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, where he started his career in golf at the famous Turnberry Hotel Golf Courses, Scotland, as an Assistant Golf Professional.
During his time at Turnberry, McMillan qualified for the PGA European Tour in La Manga, Spain, where he earned his PGA European TOUR Card. McMillan went on to receive several awards during his time at Turnberry. He also qualified and played in the British Open Championship and was voted Scotland’s Top Under 21 Professional Golfer. McMillan also played on the Asian Golf Tour.
McMillan always knew from a young age he had a passion for golf instruction. He started the Grand Geneva Golf School in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where he was nominated as one of “Americas Top Instructors.” He was also recognized by PGA Magazine as one of Americas most “Innovative Instructors.” McMillan has taught thousands of golfers at all levels of ability, including PGA Tour players and PGA European Tour players. Robert has a simple way of communicating to his students, which helps lower their scores. He believes there is not only one correct way to swing the club, but there is “Your Way.” Robert provides the student with a “Road Map” to work their way to improving.
McMillan has coached the swings of football players Tony Romo, John Kitna, Terrence Newman, Kyle Orton, and Keith Brooking over the years.
McMillan was recognized as a “Junior Golf Leader” for his work with junior golfers in his “Golf is Cool After School” program, which was recognized as one of the best junior camps in Texas. McMillan has over 25 years of teaching experience, and he is available to help golfers of all levels, no matter their skill level.
